1.hey everybody welcome to this b2 english listening practice video you can use this video to practice your listening and as i speak before we start remember to subscribe to the channel click on the bell and follow us on instagram you ready so today i'm going to talk about amusement parks this is a really fun topic because almost everyone likes going to amusement parks of some sort these parks can range in terms of size theme and the type of rides featured and so there's usually a park for everyone why don't we start by talking about the park that most people around the world would consider the preeminent amusement park disney world one quick note that i want to mention is that many of my students call this park disney whereas in reality the name is disney world one reason why this is is that you've also got disneyland which is a different park so disney world is undoubtedly the most renowned out of all the world's amusement parks to me it's really interesting that even though the company disney is targeted towards a really young audience adults are also drawn to disneyland and disney world people of all ages flock there in droves to experience the magic now i personally haven't been to disney world before but i have been to disneyland in anaheim a couple times when i was a kid i know some of you might hate me for saying this but i don't care for disneyland one bit i don't like disney at all and even though i do like amusement parks i just don't have any interest in going to disneyland i get why kids like it because they get to see all their favorite characters from all their favorite movies but for me as an adult it's just not fun however if we're talking about other amusement parks it's a different story amusement parks that have tons of roller coasters and crazy rides are right up my alley i can't get enough of those types of rides if i were to single out one amusement park that i might consider my favorite it would have to be six flags magic mountain as opposed to the disney parks six flags is geared more towards adults and adrenaline junkies like yours truly i'll never forget the first ride that i took on the roller coaster tatsu just a short time after its public debut if i'm not mistaken this ride still holds the title of the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster for me what tatsu is the best roller coaster i've ever been on is the initial build up when it takes you very slowly at a snail's pace up to its peak unlike traditional coasters on tatsu your legs are dangling they're not secured firmly on the platform so the whole way up to the peak you're pretty much hanging looking down over the park way below you as your nerves reach a climax and then once you reach the top you're sprung forward at an speed and the rest is history so as you can probably tell i'm a big roller coaster fan there are many amusement parks that specialize in roller coasters like six flags and then there are other amusement parks that specialize in certain themes like the disney parks or studios and then there are also smaller carnivals and fairs that are and come and go with the season state fairs are a perfect example of this because they're usually just there for the summer or some designated period of time these parks are usually more and they feature a lot of games that may or may not be rigged i'm bad at carnival games and so it'd be a struggle for me to win any type of stuffed animal for my wife that being said i kind of like carnivals and fairs more so for the food and atmosphere than for the games or rides alright that's all for today leave a comment and let me know what your favorite amusement park is and remember to subscribe to the channel click on the bell and follow us on instagram for more english tips and lessons i'll see you next time [Music] you
