1.thing on this is a 65 liter backpack and it's meant to hold my entire life on it for the next month [Music] I'm going backpacking for one month around Europe with my brother and I can't even believe it myself those words coming out of my mouth don't feel real when I graduated University two years three years ago now [ __ ] my biggest goal was to go traveling go sightseeing go backpacking I wanted to do language exchanges in other countries I wanted to be an au pair I don't know where that one came from but you know Big Dreams big goals I had so much hope so much genuine pure hope in my future bless her we were stuck inside for two years and my dreams were crushed but now my brother has graduated and he's invited me on a one month trip around Europe This is the time the stars have aligned I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous though I'm really nervous but I'm also really excited nervous and excited are the same emotion just with different perspectives we don't have much of a plan we know our outbound journey and our return journey and everything in between is sort of just at the whim of people around us events happening whatever inspiration takes us in the moment and that is where I want to be I want to be in the moment I am a bit of a control freak and I'm gonna try and learn to embrace spontaneity being in the moment just going with the flow being at the mercy of this crazy universe that we live in let's pack this bag [Music] okay this is going to come in really handy [Music] select payment use pinpad to complete transaction [Music] I'm just back from the charity shops and I got these two things for the trip I'll show you number one it's just something warm I don't know I feel like I'm gonna need something warm and I don't really have that many long sleeve things and the color kind of matches my backpack sexy second one and this cool little top with this textured detail it's really cool and it was one pound 70

3.it's practically free that's so cute I love that bye this is the vibe I already know my hair is gonna seriously piss me off on this trip I'm gonna have to start doing slip dot ponytails which I literally never do because I hate the shape of my forehead so I have a question what are these for where do they go they don't attach to anything where do they go I'm so confused I went down a rabbit hole of the anatomy of a backpack last night we've got the weight bearing section the top for instant access to rain gear I know my [ __ ] now but I still don't know what these bad boys are apart from clothes and toiletries this is sort of what we're working with right now all right so first off we've got a sleeping bag because I know we're gonna be sleeping in hostels that just have a rotating door of guests and I don't know if they're gonna be changing those sheets so sleeping bag just have a layer between me and probably used bed sheets and just in case we ever feel like camping out on the ground while sleeping we have the option I'm bringing a gym towel with me this also has a cute little pocket has like a zip pocket in it that's oh that was really really cool flashlight just in case I'm bringing a notebook and some pens with me for journaling and also to write down any emergency contacts that I obviously don't remember who knows numbers anymore I've got a little portable charger for my phone in case it runs out I need to have that charge it's actually not charged a little travel lock or any times that we need to just store our luggage somewhere I'm bringing a whole bunch of tech stuff like Chargers adapters and Camera stuff more camera stuff playing cards for when we inevitably get bored in my health and safety kit let me let me bring you close in my health and safety kit we've got lemsip aspirin Band-Aids quells like travel sickness pills rennies paracetamol I got tape I feel like I'm over preparing am I preparing I'm doing that thing where I plan in advance I plan every little thing that I possibly can play what the [ __ ] I'm gonna need tape for I bet you at some point you know what I'm gonna Stitch me saying that with me needing tape at some point on the trip stiff wire why do I need a stiff wire you ask you know what at some point I'm gonna need it um I brought two hair ties with me that are not for my hair I bought other hair ties for my hair but these ones are for something else something in my gut was telling me you need to bring a surplus of hair ties with you something elastic that you can tie stuff with Something's Gonna snap Something's Gonna Break we're gonna need to makeshift something and these are gonna help it was a calling some books I'm currently reading the Red Rising series and I'm really enjoying it I might even do a video review of the first book now that I finished it I wish that I just bought a Kindle or something because I know carrying these around and then when I'm finished with them I don't really know what I'm gonna do I I told myself oh it's fine once you're done with it you'll just post it back to yourself like a psychopath got a whole bunch of toiletries cosmetics and clothing to also pack I don't know what outfits I'm gonna pack yet though [Music] I made this little diagram of how I think it's gonna go so down the bottom you're supposed to put light stuff so I'm gonna put my sleeping bag near back you're supposed to put heavy stuff so I'm gonna put my laptop and my camera gear and pack up some clothes around that toiletries makeup and then liquids at the top part of this section so that it's easy to get out and then I'm gonna put my umbrella and any sort of other weatherproof stuff they have on top oh by the way I figured out what these were they just they literally just secure the lid in place I already knew that I don't know why I got so confused sleeping bag I realize the books aren't happening now how is this gonna fit yeah 63.7 oh okay uh it's over 10

4.oh is this Aquila oh this is it excuse the mess that's just stuff I couldn't take with me because I was being ruthless but this is the pack I got it down to about 10 kg in total to prepare myself for this trip I've spent around 40 pounds on secondhand items maybe 45

5.I'm just making do with what I've got this bag I got on eBay for like 18 quid it is slightly too large for me but it'll be fine um I'm comfortable with 10 kg the mesh packing squares really really helped to be able to visualize the weight and easily weigh it and be more ruthless with cutting weight out so yeah I'm gonna be traveling soon I leave over the next few days I'll see you in the next video I hope you enjoyed yeah foreign
