1.[Music] hey there this is Jenny welcome to English and Chill i'm really glad you're here let me ask you something quietly have you ever wondered why some people seem to think on a different level not just rich people but the ones who stay strong focused and grounded even when life gets messy in today's episode we'll explore how the top 1% of thinkers not just in money but in mindset see the world differently we'll keep it simple and honest and maybe by the end you'll start to see your own thoughts in a new light and while you're here if this kind of slow thoughtful learning feels good to you take a second to like this video and subscribe only if it truly speaks to you and tell me where are you listening from what time is it there i love this calm little global moment we're sharing let's begin we often think the 1% have something we don't more money more luck better connections but that's only one side of the story the deeper difference is mindset the 1% think differently not because they were born with confidence but because they've trained their minds to focus to zoom out and to choose long-term meaning over noise most people spend energy reacting to problems people social media emotions but the 1% they train themselves to respond not react there's a difference reacting is responding is conscious let's look at an example imagine this two people lose their job one panics scrolls the internet all day feels helpless to friends the other feels the same fear but takes a deep breath makes a list starts reaching out updates their resume same situation different mindset one reacts the other responds and the reason this matters is because your thoughts shape your direction the 1% don't think "I hope something good happens." They think "What can I control today that moves me forward?" I mean even a little it sounds small but it changes everything because when you're in the 99% you're often trained to chase comfort but when you begin thinking like the 1% you start chasing clarity clarity about who you are clarity about what you want clarity about what's actually worth your time maybe you've noticed the 1% don't try to impress everyone they don't follow every trend they don't explain their choices to people who don't get it because they've made peace with something powerful not everyone will understand your vision and that's okay that's the kind of mindset we're talking about here one that's built on purpose not panic one that doesn't wait for so if you're listening to this and thinking could I start thinking differently the answer is yes you already are just by being curious just by choosing this moment instead of another mindless scroll you've already taken the first step maybe you needed someone to remind you of this you don't have to live on autopilot you can live awake and that's the first quiet truth of thinking like the 1% you start by thinking for yourself and you keep going by staying true to what matters most there's a quiet habit that almost every strong thinker has but most people overlook it it's not intelligence not talent not energy it's discipline the 1% are not constantly motivated they don't wake up every day feeling inspired they just don't wait to feel good before they take action that's the difference most people think they need motivation to begin but people with discipline understand you begin first and motivation may or may not show up later let's slow that down a little motivation is emotional it comes and goes discipline is a choice it stays even when you don't feel like it you might say "But I'm tired i'm overwhelmed i need rest." And that's okay rest is part of the process but there's a difference between resting and escaping the 1% know when they need a pause but they don't let the pause turn into avoidance here's something simple but powerful they plan the work they show up they do it even when no one is watching not not every time but enough to build momentum think of a train it takes a lot of energy to start moving but once it's rolling it becomes easier to keep going that's what discipline creates momentum and momentum carries you through low days confused days slow days maybe no one ever told you this discipline isn't about being hard on yourself it's about being kind to yourself by keeping your promises when you say "I'm going to wake up earlier i'll study 15 minutes today i'll finish this small task." and you actually do it you begin to trust yourself and that trust that's how confidence grows the 1% don't have magic powers they've just built systems that support their goals they don't ask "Do I feel like it?" They ask "What's the next small thing I said I would do?" And then they do it even when no one cheers even when it's boring even when the results are slow that's not glamorous but it's real let me tell you something from my own experience there were weeks even months where I didn't feel like life felt heavy my ideas felt dull but I had a small rule just start just open the file just write one line just record for 2 minutes and most of the time that was enough to carry me forward discipline isn't about big pushes it's about small returns done again and again like watering a plant you don't flood it once and leave it you show up gently daily and over time something grows so if you've been waiting for the perfect mood the ideal schedule the spark of motivation maybe this is your reminder don't wait for the perfect wave learn to paddle and if all you can do today is one small thing do it with care that's how discipline begins and that's how change becomes real here's a strange truth the 1% fail more than most people but they also learn faster because they don't waste time feeling ashamed they see failure not as the end but as data as direction most of us were raised to think failure means something is wrong with us but highle thinkers they've learned to ask better questions when something doesn't work not why am I so bad at this but what can I learn from this that small shift changes everything think about a baby learning to walk they fall stand up fall again hundreds of times but they don't sit there thinking "Maybe I'm not good enough for walking." They keep going because failure isn't shameful it's expected the 1% keep that same mindset they try things they mess up they look at what went wrong and they try again smarter this time it's not about never falling it's about learning how to fall better maybe you've been stuck in fear fear of trying fear of what people will think fear of not being perfect and I get it truly that fear is real it's human but what if you gently reminded yourself nobody doing great things avoids failure they just get better at using it i remember one of my first English lessons on camera the lighting was terrible i spoke too fast my editing was choppy when I watched it back I cringed but I posted it anyway because I knew I had to let it be if I wanted to grow and that small act of courage it taught me more than any book ever could you can't grow without feedback and the fastest feedback comes from doing not planning not overthinking doing the 1% don't need every plan to be perfect they just need to begin they also know something failure is not personal it's mechanical if you try something and it doesn't work it doesn't mean you are broken it just means something in the method didn't match and now you have a chance to adjust so if you've made a mistake recently if you've been hard on yourself take a breath and ask gently "What did this experience teach me about my next step?" Not "How do I fix myself but what did I just learn that I didn't know before?" That question alone will put you ahead of 99% of people who never dare to try remember failure is not a wall it's a mirror and it's trying to show you something not about who you are but about where you're going so keep going let failure be your teacher not your judge and maybe next time something doesn't go as planned you'll pause and say "This is part of it i'm learning i'm getting stronger and I'm still in the game here's something we don't talk about enough the people around you shape your thoughts even when you don't notice it if you spend time with people who doubt themselves you'll start doubting too if you're surrounded by people who avoid effort you'll start thinking effort is something to avoid it's not because you're weak it's because you're human we all want to belong we all absorb the energy of those around us like sunlight or smoke so if you want to think like the 1% you have to pay attention to the mindset of the people closest to you now this doesn't mean cutting everyone off but it does mean asking who supports my growth who drains my energy who challenges me in a good way who keeps me stuck the 1% choose their environment with care they know you can't grow tall in poisoned soil and sometimes it's not even what people say it's what they don't say they don't celebrate your wins they don't believe in your dreams they make you feel too extra for wanting more that quiet resistance is heavy and if you're around it for too long you start shrinking but what happens when you spend time with people who are focused curious and kind you start believing that you can be those things too let me tell you a story from my early teaching days i was in a staff room where people constantly complained about students about the system about how nothing changes at first I joined in i thought maybe this is normal but after a few months I felt drained so I started having lunch alone i used that time to read to reflect and slowly my mindset shifted not because I had more support but because I removed the noise sometimes your biggest growth begins in silence later I found a new group of teachers who were passionate hopeful and kind and let me tell you being around them made me dream bigger made me try harder made me feel safe to care again that's the power of people they can either fuel your fire or slowly put it out so if you're listening to this and thinking "But I don't have anyone like that right now." Please don't give up sometimes your next circle isn't found it's built you build it by showing up to places that match your values you build it by being the kind of person you're looking for and sometimes your first new voice is a podcast a book a video a quiet message like this one until you find your people let good ideas keep you company let quiet inspiration be your background music you don't have to do it all alone but you can start by being mindful protect your energy choose your influences and if something or someone makes you feel small too often you're allowed to walk away because you deserve to be in spaces that feed your mind not shrink your spirit you don't need a big crowd just a few true voices can change your path when you picture someone successful really picture them what do you imagine a big house fancy job loud applause maybe but here's the real truth most people miss the 1% don't just dream big they act small every day they know something the rest of us forget big things grow from small steps repeated gently not with drama not with overnight change with quiet consistency most people want fast results they want to lose 10 kg in a month they want to speak English fluently next week they want a new life without changing their habits but the 1% they understand the power of planting seeds and watering them even when nothing has sprouted yet they're not in a rush they're in a rhythm let's pause here what if your success isn't about doing more but about doing less more reliably one page a day one walk a morning one practice session one simple promise kept these are the bricks that build the life you want but here's the hard part small steps don't feel exciting they feel invisible and that's where most people give up because they don't see the change yet so they assume nothing's happening but deep change is often silent at first like roots growing underground the 1% keep going even when results are invisible they trust the process more than their feelings they believe in what they're building even before it shows maybe you needed someone to remind you today progress is not always visible but it is always happening when you stay in motion think about a river it flows slowly but shapes rocks over time you don't need force you need flow and if today is hard if your dream feels far remember you only need to take care of this step you don't have to see the whole staircase you just have to trust your next step is worth taking i once had a student named Yuki she told me her dream was to move abroad and teach in English but her vocabulary was limited and she felt embarrassed speaking instead of setting giant goals we agreed on one thing 10 minutes of English a day she kept going 10 minutes every day for a year not just listening not just watching practicing speaking writing reading out loud a year later she sent me a photo it was her in front of a school in Canada she made it not because she rushed but because she stayed that's what thinking like the 1% looks like in real life it's not flashy it's not loud but it's deeply rooted so if you've been asking "Am I doing enough?" Maybe the better question is "Am I doing what matters ?" Because even the tiniest step forward repeated daily becomes unstoppable you don't have to change everything today you just have to choose your next step and take it with care let's end here not with pressure but with presence you've made it through this whole episode not just listening but reflecting and maybe that's the true magic of the 1% mindset not being better than anyone else but being gentle and honest with your effort so if something from this episode stayed with you hold it close even one idea one phrase can start a quiet revolution in your life you don't need to prove anything to anyone you just need to keep your promises to yourself one small true step at a time if this episode helped you feel stronger share it with someone who might need the same reminder and as always I'd love to know where in the world are you listening from and what time is it there this is Jenny and I believe in your ability to build a life rooted in purpose quietly patiently and fully [Music]
